This vintage Champagne, from an exceptional year of harvest, was composed and aged from must from the premier crus of the vineyards of the Clicquot house.
Having slowly matured in Gallo-Roman chalk quarries in Reims, it has the personal style of the house and the inimitable taste for perfection. The predominantly floral aromas, all in finesse, of Chardonnay mingle with the fruity and persistent structure of Pinot Noir. Honor this bottle by keeping it in the dark, at a cool and constant temperature. Refresh it before unblocking it.
Wuat's opinion: Beyond the image of the orange brand, this vintage 1998 vintage from Veuve Clicquot is extraordinary.
We tasted the three great vintages: 1988, 1989 and 1990. The three are very different and of great quality. These bottles are among those that we will remember for a long time. We remember when we drank it and with whom. In short, you taste a moment, not a champagne.
We strongly recommend that lovers of champagnes and old vintages taste the vintage cuvées from many great houses (Mumm, Moet, Besserat, De Venoge etc.) before the high demand makes them unaffordable.
These old bottles, if aged in good conditions, reveal very different charms and much more attractive than the recently disgorged cuvées. But this is only our humble opinion.
