The Roederer maison produces great aging champagnes. Even this “classic” cuvée ages particularly well and we love it at WUAT.
And for good reason, the malolactic fermentation is only partially carried out. Part of the blend (around 10%) comes from reserve wines aged for up to 5 years in oak barrels.
The cuvée waits on average three years in the cellars of the famous house before being marketed.
The resulting champagne is therefore lively, chalky, very fresh. It is not the easiest to taste for the uninitiated to the fabulous world of bubbles.
We advise you to decant this Champagne in these young years. After twenty years, he becomes a little less temperamental.
This bottle was disgorged between 2014 and 2016.
