Champagne Ulysse Collin "Les Maillons" Disgorgement March 2019
Another Rockstar from the wonderful terroir of Champagne.
This extra brut produced by Olivier Collin got all that is required for great Champagne today. The wine is lively but round and chalky. Pinot Noir brings notes of fresh red fruits that we would like to find in more Champagnes. Long aging in barrels and then aging in the cellar allow us to obtain a Champagne ready to drink today without the slightest aggression.
It must be said that Olivier Collin was formed at a good school, with Anselme Selosse. He then took over the family vines in Congy, adding his personality and style.
WUAT's note: This cuvée, already in great demand, will certainly be almost inaccessible in the months to come. If you're a fan of great champagnes from small producers, it's now or never.
