Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2000 - Domaine Charvin
Overall condition: Excellent
It is a pleasure to offer you this little-known estate of Châteauneuf in great vintages.
This estate offers a very funny story. Originally, it was the "Charavin" family who cultivated the vines since the 16th century. But, following an administrative error (proof that our story takes place in France), the name Charvin is entered in the registers and the Charavin family will definitively lose an "a".
It was only in 1990 that the estate began to bottle its wine hitself. Until then, the grapes were sold to traders. Sales quickly exploded thanks, in particular, to the very good reviews from R.Parker.
The wines are produced mainly from old Grenache vines. The vinification is very classic, in concrete vats but in whole harvest. Avant-garde, organic certification was acquired before the 2000s.
The style is very structured and requires many years of cellaring for the bottles to reach their peak (and that's good we offer them with more than twenty years of aging in the best conditions)
This 2000 got 93 Parker points.
