The Corton is the historical plot that gave its name to the appellation.
The vines have been present since the 3rd century BC and Guy de Maupassant, in his novel Bel-Ami, described the wine that came from king of the good living.
The 3.5 hectares owned by the Bouchard Père et Fils house occupy the eastern flank of the hill of Corton, on a stony clay soil and stony and very qualitative where the pinot noir blossoms perfectly.
After manual harvesting and sorting with great attention, the vinification takes place in small containers for a greater precision, before a raising involving 80 to 100% of new oak barrels, stored in the cellars of the old castle of Beaune at optimal conditions for a serene aging.
This Corton Grand Cru is a full-bodied wine, racy, deep, ample and cut for long guards. A great wine, simply.
