The Combe d'Orveau 1er cru is an extraordinary terroir located just above the plots of Musigny grand cru (just that).
The small plot owned by Faiveley covers only 0.25 ha. The vines on this plot were planted in 1945!
16 months of aging in French oak barrels with moderate heating, 50% new barrels and 50% two-wine barrels.
A 2005 vintage which is "close to perfection", according to Faiveley's own words, and with great aging potential.
This wine offers fruity and woody notes on the nose. In the mouth, the very present tannins are perfectly integrated. Empyreumatic aromas and ripe black fruits dominate.
This 2005 should be at its peak. This is one of the last bottles of 2005 available on the world market!
