Domaine de la Romanée-Conti - Richebourg Grand Cru 1966
No need to introduce you to Richebourg from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. These two names would make all lovers of great wines dream.
The 1966 vintage is a great success for the DRC vineyard, this Richebourg is one of the 20 greatest vintages produced.
This bottle comes from a magnificent 18th century cellar located in the Jura. The owner of this cellar, a great gentleman in the wine world, had bought it in Burgundy in the 1970s. In addition, the price of 3750 French Francs, a significant amount at that time, was still indicated above. This cellar contained exclusively DRC from the 1961 and 1966 vintages. Despite the wear of the label we can clearly identify the vintage as being a 1966 thanks to a superposition of the same inscription from a photo of another bottle of the estate. . (see images).
As you can see from the pictures the color of the wine is superb, the cork and the cap are in good condition. We have tasted other wines from the same collection, including a 1950 Château Carbonnieux Blanc, the perfect type of wine to check cellar storage conditions, and this wine was magnificent without oxidation or light taste.
