Domaine Michel Chapoutier has vines on the most beautiful terroirs of the Rhône valley. And much more today thanks to its properties in the new world and throughout the French vineyard. The 350 hectares of vines have been fully biodynamic since 1999.
The "Mordorée" parcel is located at the edge of the Côte Blonde, on a terroir made up among other things of chlorite and ferruginous mica schists (see attached technical sheet for lovers of technical details).
The vinification takes place in concrete vats, with daily pumping over to ensure significant extraction of the tannins. Aging in large 225L barrels between 14 and 18 months depending on the vintage.
To put it simply, this cuvée is a "bomb" of power with significant aging potential (allow 50 to 75 years of aging for great vintages)
Rated 95 points by Parker, this 1995 vintage is classified as exceptional in the same way as 1961 and 1989 and is one of the 7 best vintages of the Côte Rôtie appellation.
