CHATEAU PICHON-LONGUEVILLE BARON 1985 - PAUILLAC
2nd Grand Cru Classé in 1855
The Pichon Baron domain covers 73 ha of excellent quality gravelly soils which nourish in a balanced way the different varieties of vine stocks whose average age is 35 years.
A selection of the oldest vines is dedicated to the production of Pichon Baron, the great wine of the house, whose number of bottles is limited.
We have frequently tasted the Pichon Baron and Comtesse. Usually the Comtesse is our clients' favorite. But we had some very nice surprises with Baron, especially on closed vintages like 86 or 88.
This 1979 vintage received very good reviews in its time, when we know the aging potential of the wines of this Château, there is no doubt that, with such a condition of conservation, this wine will appeal to the most demanding tasters.
