Everything changed at Château Lafon Rochet in 1959 when Guy Tesseron bought the castle. It was in need of extensive work as it had fallen into a dilapidated condition. The Tesseron family, under the leadership of Guy Tesseron, has completely renovated Lafon Rochet.
You will also notice the strong similarity between this label and that of Château Pontet-Canet, also owned by Tesserons at that time.
The 1987 vintage is not the most popular in Bordeaux, yet it can offer interesting wines which, for some, have survived the ages very well. Obviously they are not at the level of the other great wines of the 80's but they are not at the same price either.
This perfectly preserved bottle will make a wonderful gift for a birthday, but could also have a nice surprise in store for you when tasting.
