The Dominus cuvée was created in 1982 by Christian Moueix, famous Bordeaux winegrower, also owner of Petrus. The first cuvées carry the name "Napanook Vineyard". Historic vineyard offering the best terroirs.
Rated 99 pts by a famous critic, this 1994 cuvée is perhaps the greatest success in the history of the estate with the 1991 vintage.
Tasting Notes: Comparable in quality to Dominus 1991, the 1994 is a dense and deeply colored wine with substantial but supple tannins.
- Harvest between September 19 and October 21.
- Blend: 72% Cabernet Sauvignon - 12% Merlot - 11% Cabernet Franc - 5% Petit Verdot
- 40% new barrel
- Bottled in May 1996
Production of less than 50,000 bottles. No need to say that very few traveled to Europe, and very rare are those still available today.
