The "Château Marquis d'Alesme Becker", today called "Marquis d'Alesme" is one of the oldest Château of the Margaux appellation. Created in 1585 by the marquis of the same name, this "small" property has 15 ha of vines among the most beautiful of the appellation.
Clayey-limestone soils composed of clayey and siliceous gravel on a gentle slope and facing due south allow the grapes to ripen perfectly.
The vines are managed using sustainable methods close to biodynamics, and the fauna and flora of the vineyard are listed.
Don't hesitate to take a look at the Château Marquis d'Alesme website, which clearly reflects the brand's philosophy.
Wuat's opinion: An unusual wine, from a small production and renowned for its very high aging potential. It is powerful and offers very particular animal notes. If you want to offer a bottle of the 1975 vintage, don't hesitate, the quality-price ratio is exceptional.
