Château Mille Roses 2013 - Margaux
Mille Roses, a pretty, very poetic name for a Margaux, an appellation appreciated for its great finesse and elegance.
Château Mille Roses was founded in 1999 after the young owner inherited the Château and the wine-growing lands from his parents who died prematurely.
Why Mille Roses? Quite simply to recall the rose bushes cultivated by his mother, for all the rose bushes at the end of the vines of the Médoc and for the richness and aromatic finesse of the wines that the owner wishes to produce.
The estate now covers 10 hectares, and their organic conversion dates from the 2010 vintage.
Due to bad weather, the 2013 harvest was minimalist with only 15,000 bottles produced. However, Mille Roses was able to make the most of this ungrateful vintage, thanks to their organic production method which allowed them to reach sufficient maturity quite early and to the very selective sorting of the manual harvest to keep only the best.
When tasting, the color is garnet, the wine brilliant.
On the nose, notes of marshmallow, toast and vegetal.
The woodiness dominates the palate with aromas of caramel and vanilla.
