RED PAVILION OF CHATEAU MARGAUX 2011 - MARGAUX
The second wine of the famous Château Margaux.
Most of the second wines of Bordeaux chateaux appeared 30 or 40 years ago, but at Chateau Margaux, Pavillon Rouge was created in the 19th century and has been called Pavillon Rouge since 1908. However, it was discontinued in the mid-1900s before being brought back into fashion in 1977 by André Mentzelopoulos.
The terroir is identical to that of the first wine but the difference lies in the blending of the different batches. Young vines are used for this second vintage. The vintage is released after 15 to 20 months of aging.
The 2011 vintage of Pavillon Rouge is one of the most powerful ever produced. This wine with very long aging potential will become a great classic on the level of the 1982 and 1986 vintages. The ideal gift to celebrate the 2011 vintage.
