CHATEAU PICHON-LONGUEVILLE BARON 1991 - PAUILLAC
About the Castle:
The Pichon Baron estate covers 73 hectares of excellent quality gravelly soils which provide balanced nutrition to the different varieties of vines, the average age of which is 35 years.
A selection of the oldest vines is dedicated to the production of Pichon Baron, the house's great wine, the number of bottles of which is limited.
About the vintage:
The 1991 Château Pichon-Longueville Baron is a wine made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (64%), Merlot (27%) and Cabernet Franc (9%). This vintage is known for its elegance and finesse. The nose reveals aromas of black fruits and cassis, as well as spicy notes. The palate is balanced, with a beautiful tannic structure and a long finish.
The 1991 vintage:
The 1991 vintage was marked by difficult weather conditions, with a cool and rainy summer. This resulted in lighter and less powerful wines than previous vintages. Despite this, the 1991 Château Pichon-Longueville Baron remains a superior wine that can be enjoyed now or cellared for a few years.
