Arbois "White Type" 1988 - Tissot
Jacques Tissot created his estate in 1962, after inheriting a plot of land from his father. The first vintage of vin jaune produced came out in 1969. The estate now covers thirty hectares, divided between AOC Arbois and Côtes du Jura.
The Domaine works in sustainable cultivation, that is to say that they use the minimum of phytosanitary products, respecting the vines as much as possible, thanks to working the soil and grassy plots, thus preserving biodiversity.
The vinification is traditional, with passage in oak barrels and tuns, from 12 to 30 months, but also modern with the use of thermo-regulated vats.
The plots are made up of old vines with an average age of 36 years and young plants.
The Jacques Tissot estate produces Poulsard, Trousseau, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Savagnin, Vin Jaune, Crémant du Jura, Vin de Paille, as well as its November Harvest, the 249 JT, a Macvin du Jura.... And its particularity is that it keeps old vintages in old cellars.
The prestige and expertise of the estate are no longer in doubt, with the estate collecting around twenty awards per year, proof of its consistency.
This Arbois "Blanc Typé" vintage is still produced today and is composed of 70% Chardonnay aged in tuns before blending and 30% Savagnin aged under veil for 36 months.
Tasted in December 2021 (vintage 1988 or 1989 impossible to know) this wine seems immortal, not the slightest oxidation, a beautiful freshness and fat. A balance worthy of certain great wines of the Côte de Beaune.
