Barolo Bussia Soprana 1986 - Aldo Conterno
About the Aldo Conterno estate:
Poderi Aldo Conterno is a renowned and highly sought-after Piedmontese producer known for its wines from the best plots of the Bussia vineyard in Monforte d'Alba. Aldo Conterno, who passed away in 2012, was considered by many to be the greatest of all Barolo winemakers.
The vineyard covers about 25 hectares and is mainly located on south and southwest facing slopes with clay-limestone soils. The Cru Barolos are produced from the Romirasco, Cicala and Colonello plots of the Bussia vineyard
This cuvée comes from the best plots of Nebbiolo vines aged 15 years or more from Bussia to Montforte d'Alba. The wine is aged for at least 26 months in oak barrels.
Exceptional provenance: These bottles come from a cellar of a great Swiss wine enthusiast and collector. We have acquired the complete collection containing more than 200 bottles of mainly French and Italian wines. The bottles have all been preserved following their purchase en primeur or shortly after their marketing on site, in a natural cellar buried under a 16th century convent. A damp cellar, which is why some labels are very worn. The levels are generally excellent or perfect and the most "fragile" bottles testify to conservation in total darkness for more than 30 years!
