Beaune 1er cru "Clos du Roi" 1996 - Tollot-Beaut
Low stock: 1 left
The Tollot-Beaut estate has been cultivating 25 hectares of vines in four communes of the Côte de Beaune for five generations.
About the cuvée: The 1er cru Clos du Roi takes its name from Louis XI, former owner of the Clos who acquired it following the death of Charles the Bold. Located north of Beaune, the Clos du Roi produces fresh and elegant wines while retaining a significant structure. The aging takes place over a period of 16 to 18 months in 50% new barrels.
The 1996 vintage is one of the "Very Great Vintages" in Beaune. It is at the same level as 2002 or 1985 which offer significant aging potential.
Tasting advice: Try to open the bottle two hours before serving. You can also serve in large glasses immediately after opening and let it breathe for about fifteen minutes before tasting.
