About the estate: Established in Meursault since 1868, the Jacques Prieur estate is one of the most serious, consistent and highly sought-after great estates in Burgundy. We refer you to their website which is particularly comprehensive. Jacques Prieur
About the cuvée: This small plot of 1er cru "les Grèves" of only 1.17ha is located not far from the famous vines of the child Jesus of the Bouchard house. As in Bordeaux, the strikes are small limestone pebbles often coupled with silica and here, clay-limestone soil. The wines produced on these terroirs are of great finesse and benefit from a significant aging potential.
About the vintage: 2010 is a great vintage in Burgundy. Much less easy than 2009, 2010 is concentrated, strict with powerful tannins. The yields were well below the average of previous years. You can therefore keep them for many years or enjoy them today with some aeration.
