Presentation of the Belle Epoque vintage:

A true icon of champagne, this cuvée is a tribute to elegance and art nouveau. Created in 1964 to honor the Belle Époque spirit, it is distinguished by its emblematic bottle decorated with Japanese anemones, the work of master glassmaker Émile Gallé. Both rare and timeless, this champagne is ideal for grand celebrations or to enrich a collection.

Presentation of Maison Perrier-Jouët:

Founded in 1811 by Pierre-Nicolas Perrier and Adèle Jouët, the Perrier-Jouët house is famous for its champagnes of incomparable floral elegance. Located in Épernay, this family house has one of the most beautiful terroirs of the Côte des Blancs, with exceptional plots of Chardonnay. A symbol of the French art of living, it has made history with prestigious vintages such as the Belle Époque, a true aesthetic and taste masterpiece.

The 1983 vintage in Champagne: remarkably good.

The growing season began with a freezing winter and a cold, wet spring that ultimately delayed bud break and flowering. Despite this setback, flowering was largely successful and a hot, dry summer followed with rains that did not fall until close to harvest, which helped rehydrate the grapes.

The resulting October harvest was large and extremely healthy, allowing most of the major Champagne houses to release a vintage wine. The resulting wines were rich, complex and opulent with significant aging potential.

Technical characteristics:

  • Grape varieties: Chardonnay (dominant), Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier
  • Dosage: Raw
  • Condition: Excellent level, sublime color. Bottle in excellent overall condition.
  • Tasting: Perfect balance between freshness and maturity, with complex aromas of ripe fruit, roasted hazelnuts, and a persistent and refined finish.

Food and wine pairings:
Ideal with refined dishes such as roast lobster, pan-fried scallops, or delicate citrus-based desserts. It will also enhance fine and refined gourmet cuisine.
