Champagne Bérêche et Fils "Left Bank Marne Valley" Extra Brut 2013:
The 2013 Vallée de la Marne Rive Gauche cuvée is a real gem for lovers of unique champagnes. Made exclusively from Pinot Meunier, a rare single-varietal grape variety, it comes from a unique plot located on the left bank of the Vallée de la Marne, where the clay-limestone soils give the wine a remarkable complexity. Produced in only 4,200 bottles, this cuvée embodies the artisanal know-how of the Bérêche et Fils house. Aged in oak barrels and dosed as Extra Brut, this champagne reveals a beautiful aromatic richness, combining notes of white fruits, pear and pastry, with a saline minerality and a vibrant freshness.
Presentation of the Bérêche et Fils House:
Founded in 1847, the Bérêche et Fils house is passionately run by Raphaël and Vincent Bérêche, fifth generation of winemakers. With their 9.5 hectares spread over several exceptional terroirs, they have become an essential reference thanks to their artisanal approach and their constant search for excellence. The house is particularly recognized for its work in biodynamics and its meticulous vinifications, which highlight the specificities of each plot. Bérêche et Fils is today hailed as one of the most audacious and respected houses in Champagne.
The 2013 vintage in Champagne:
2013 was a late year, marked by a cool spring and a sunny summer. The harvest, delayed until October, produced perfectly ripe grapes while retaining a high acidity, characteristic of great champagnes for laying down. This vintage is distinguished by its freshness, precision and remarkable ageing potential.
