Chateau Beychevelle 2001 - Saint-Julien
The lands of Château Beychevelle extend over 250 ha, including 90 ha of vines.
The vineyard is composed of the four typical Médoc grape varieties: 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. The vines are 30 years old on average.
Château Beychevelle works its vines using sustainable farming methods, and even has part of the vineyard in organic farming.
Its wines reflect the elegance and finesse of the Saint-Julien terroirs. Châteaux Beychevelle comes from the best plots of the vineyard.
About the 2001 vintage:
The cool and wet month of July required harvests between October 1st and 14th. The very good sanitary conditions resulted in relatively high yields of 57 hectoliters per hectare. The resulting wine is tannic, dry, powerful and has a high aging potential.
