Chateau Beychevelle 2006 - Saint-Julien
The lands of Château Beychevelle extend over 250 ha, including 90 ha of vines.
The vineyard is composed of the four typical Médoc grape varieties: 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. The vines are 30 years old on average.
Château Beychevelle works its vines using sustainable farming methods, and even has part of the vineyard in organic farming.
Its wines reflect the elegance and finesse of the Saint-Julien terroirs. Châteaux Beychevelle comes from the best plots of the vineyard.
About the 2006 vintage: 91 RP points for this vintage which is particularly successful. The very good sanitary conditions and mild weather allowed the Merlot harvest to begin on September 20 and finish with the Cabernet Sauvignon on October 5. The yields of 48 hectoliters per hectare are in the low average.
Expect to taste a powerful wine with roasted notes and a solid, ample structure as well as a nice length.
