This beautiful estate was focused on the French market until the last generation represented by the talented and energetic sales director Mrs. Claire Fleurot and the young winemaker Thomas Colladot joined forces to take this estate to new heights through the expansion of its reputation throughout the world.
The family owns an incredible selection of six Grand Cru vineyards in Côte de Nuits, including significant holdings in Grands Echezeaux, Echezeaux, Clos de Vougeot, Charmes Chambertin, Clos de la Roche and Clos saint Denis.
Thomas is best friends with one of Burgundy's most famous winemakers, Sebastian Cathiard, and shares his winemaking philosophy with the belief that great wines are first created in the vineyards. And indeed, Sebastian and Thomas & Claire's vineyards are renowned for being among the finest in Burgundy thanks to the hard work that goes into them. They also often get together to taste and discuss their wines together.
The wines of Domaine Coquard Loison Fleurot are characterized by the purity and transparency of their terroirs.
WUAT's review : Tasted early 2021: Nice surprise on this generic Burgundy from 1993. We started with a priori, 1993 being a fairly weak vintage in Burgundy, imagining this wine to be quite tired, in decline and finally not at all! It has always been well maintained by the acidity with very pleasant liquorice notes and even still slightly fruity. We would have rather placed it on a 1er cru or at least on a village appellation. This simply shows that tasting can have some nice surprises in store for us.
