Calon-Ségur 1984 - Saint-Estephe

Château Calon-Ségur has one of the most beautiful histories among the Bordeaux Châteaux. It was in fact the favorite of the Marquis de Ségur who, although he owned other small but pleasant estates such as Mouton, Lafite and Latour (no less), preferred Calon. Hence the very famous phrase "I make my wine in Lafite and Latour, but my heart is in Calon.

The 1984 vintage has been competently eclipsed by the many "great" vintages that followed it. However, in recent years, enthusiasts have become interested in it again (the same goes for the 83 and 87 vintages). We realize that the wines are not so "thin" and that some great successes easily cross the decades and deserve to be tasted.
