Presentation of the Jean-Marc Brocard estate:

Founded in 1973, Domaine Jean-Marc Brocard has become one of the essential references in Chablis. Located in the heart of the Yonne Valley, the estate cultivates its vines in accordance with Burgundian traditions and the unique terroir of the region, with a progressive orientation towards biodynamics. With particular attention paid to precision and the expression of the terroir, the estate offers wines that reflect the authenticity of Chablis, and this Grand Cru Bougros is no exception.

The 2000 vintage in Chablis:

The 2000 vintage in Chablis was a classic year marked by balanced climatic conditions. After a mild spring and a moderately warm summer, the harvest took place in dry weather, allowing good ripeness of the grapes. The wines of this vintage are characterized by a beautiful structure, a well-integrated acidity and an interesting aging capacity.

Technical characteristics:

  • Grape variety : 100% Chardonnay.
  • Terroir : Clay-limestone soils rich in marine fossils, ideal southwest exposure for optimal maturity.
  • Vinification : Fermentation in stainless steel vats to preserve the purity of the aromas, partial aging in barrels.
  • Tasting : Intense gold color with bright reflections. Complex nose of dried fruits, acacia honey and iodized touches. Full and mineral mouth with a beautiful saline finish.
  • Condition : Good condition, the label is stained and torn but perfectly identifiable. Perfect level and color.
  • Aging potential : Peak reached, enjoy now to fully enjoy.

Food and wine pairings:

Ideally accompanied by noble shellfish such as lobster or langoustines, white-fleshed fish such as turbot, or even a mushroom risotto.
