History of the Bouchard Père & Fils House

Founded in 1731 in Beaune, Bouchard Père & Fils is one of the oldest trading houses and estates in Burgundy. With an exceptional vineyard of 130 hectares, including 12 classified as Grands Crus and 74 as Premiers Crus, this house embodies the excellence and diversity of Burgundy's terroirs. Bought in 1995 by the Henriot family, it continues today its ancestral know-how by combining tradition and modernity. Renowned for its precision in winemaking and its respect for the terroirs, Bouchard Père & Fils is an ambassador of the great wines of Burgundy throughout the world.

Presentation of the Chambolle-Musigny appellation

The Chambolle-Musigny appellation, located in the Côte de Nuits, is renowned for its red wines of incomparable finesse and elegance. Often described as the most "feminine" in Burgundy, the wines of Chambolle-Musigny offer delicate aromas of red fruits and silky tannins. The limestone soil of this appellation contributes to the finesse and minerality of the wines. Among the prestigious vintages of Chambolle-Musigny are Les Amoureuses and Bonnes Mares, but even the village cuvées are distinguished by their refinement.

Presentation of the 2012 vintage in Burgundy

The 2012 vintage was marked by difficult weather conditions in Burgundy, with spring frosts, hailstorms and disrupted flowering. However, the low yields led to an exceptional concentration in the grapes, particularly for the Pinot Noir. The 2012 reds are particularly successful, with a beautiful structure, complex aromas of black fruits and well-preserved freshness. This vintage is appreciated for its balance and its aging potential, particularly for the Côte de Nuits appellations.
