A family business established in Morey-Saint-Denis, the Ligner-Michelot estate cultivates 12 hectares of vines in around thirty appellations on the Côte de Nuits. For an average annual production of 30,000 bottles.
About the vintage: Old vines over 60 years old planted in the north of the appellation. Only 6,000 bottles are produced per year. Vinification in whole harvests for approximately 75% of the harvest. The unremoved stalks allow the wine to be structured and the style of tannins to be diversified. This is followed by an aging of 13 months on average in 30% new barrels.
Tasting advice: At WUAT we are not really used to tasting Burgundies so young. The 2019 vintage being a great success, you can forget this bottle in the cellar for more than ten years without hesitation. If you want to taste it before that, a serious passage in a carafe of at least an hour will be necessary.
