History of the Heidsieck & Co Monopole house
Founded in 1785 by Florens-Louis Heidsieck, the Heidsieck & Co Monopole house is one of the oldest in Champagne. Very quickly recognized for its exceptional vintages, it was able to seduce the European royal and imperial courts, becoming the official supplier to the Russian court. Today integrated into the Vranken-Pommery Monopole group, it continues to produce emblematic vintages, like the Diamant Bleu , which embodies luxury and refinement.
Presentation of the Diamant Bleu vintage
The Diamant Bleu vintage is named after the rarest diamond in the world. Created to enhance exceptional moments, it is distinguished by an iconic bottle with a precious silhouette and a design that evokes jewelry. Developed only during remarkable vintages, it is now produced under the aegis of the Vranken house.
The 1985 vintage in Champagne
The 1985 vintage in Champagne is considered excellent. After a cold winter, the spring was mild and the grapes matured slowly but perfectly. The harvest took place in ideal weather, offering grapes of very good quality, with well-preserved acidity and excellent ageing potential.
Tasting note: Complex nose with aromas of dried fruits, honey and toast. The palate is lively, with a nice tension and a lingering finish on brioche and slightly spicy notes.
