History of the Perrier-Jouët House
Founded in 1811 in Épernay, Perrier-Jouët quickly distinguished itself with its floral and refined style. It owes its name to its founding couple, Pierre-Nicolas Perrier and Adèle Jouët. The house is famous for its Grand Brut champagne, one of the first modern Brut cuvées, developed in response to the evolving tastes of the 19th century. Perrier-Jouët continues to be associated with elegance and innovation, notably thanks to its famous bottle decorated with anemones, created by the artist Émile Gallé in 1902.
Presentation of the Cuvée Grand Brut
The Grand Brut embodies Perrier-Jouët’s iconic style: freshness, finesse and complexity. It is a harmonious blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, designed to offer a balanced and accessible experience. Non-vintage, this cuvée reflects the house’s consistency and expertise. Its lightness and floral nuances make it an essential reference.
Presentation of the Era (1970s)
The 1970s were a defining decade in the history of champagne. The houses focused on elegant, fine vintages that were accessible to an international audience. This vintage bottle, still in perfect condition, is a treasure for enthusiasts and collectors.

WUAT's Notes : We tasted a magnum from the same cellar, which was too low for us to offer it to you. So we "tested" it and were not disappointed. As is often the case, the Champagne from the great houses of the 60s, 70s and 80s have gracefully passed through the ages. We still can't understand how such wonders remain on the market at such affordable prices. Treat yourself!
