The Vincent Bourgeot estate is extremely discreet, with no website, no retailer, no tasting cellar. Although active since the early 1990s, it is difficult to obtain information about it. Located in Gevrey-Chambertin, this small estate sells its entire production directly to individuals. It is difficult to obtain bottles or information. It seems that the estate only produces grands crus from the Charmes-Chambertin appellation.

About the 2001 vintage:

An exceptional vintage, especially for the red wines of Côte de Nuits Spring was blessed with beautiful sunny periods. However, after a cool and rainy July, summer really set in in August, offering sometimes scorching heat and abundant sunshine.

Unfortunately, violent rain and hailstorms caused significant damage to some vines. In September, a cooling spell and low rainfall required increased vigilance from winegrowers to choose the best harvest time. The vinification of red wines required a technical approach to extract the best potential in coloring matter and tannins.

Red wines, they reveal bright and intense colors. Their structure is powerful, thanks to firm tannins and a balanced level of acidity. They offer a delectable flesh, accompanied by a pleasant and expressive fruitiness. The wines of Gevrey-Chambertin and Vosne-Romanée stand out in particular, sublimating this remarkable harvest.

As you will have understood, a particularly rare great wine for laying down which will probably greatly please those who like wines which are out of the ordinary.
