Château Beauséjour Heirs Duffau-Lagarrosse 2013 - Saint-Emilion
Premier Grand Cru Classé since the origin of the Saint-Emilion wine classification, Château Beauséjour héritiers Duffau-Lagarrosse has belonged to the family since 1847.
Since 2021, Joséphine Duffau-Lagarosse, representing the ninth family generation, has joined forces with Prisca Courtin-Clarins of the famous Clarins house.
Joséphine fought to stay in charge of Château Beauséjour because two other buyers had come forward. But by partnering with Prisca, they found a way to keep the estate in the family while becoming co-owners. It is a deal that has been much talked about in the "public square" with an amount of 75 million euros.
They have a common project to work according to a "thoughtful" agriculture, by putting into practice this fight for biodiversity which animates their generation: agroforestry, beehives, the return of bats, the rehabilitation of a spring for the cleaning of vats etc... They have joined forces with a duo of consulting oenologists of their age: Axel Marchal and Julien Viaud (Laboratoire Rolland & associés)
Before that, since 2009, it was Stéphane de Derenoncourt and Nicolas Thienpont who participated in the production of these high-quality wines.
