History of the House
Château Brane-Cantenac, 2nd Grand Cru Classé of the Margaux appellation since the 1855 classification, is one of the jewels of the left bank of Bordeaux. Its history dates back to the 18th century, when the estate was called "Château Gorce". In 1833, Baron de Brane, nicknamed the "Napoleon of the vines", acquired the property and gave it its current name. Under the management of the Lurton family, owners since 1925, Brane-Cantenac is renowned for its quality and elegance. of its wines.
The vineyard, covering 75 hectares, is planted mainly with Cabernet Sauvignon (55%), accompanied by Merlot (40%) and Cabernet Franc (5%). Situated on deep gravel typical of Margaux, it benefits from an exceptional terroir which helps to produce wines of remarkable finesse and longevity.
