Château La Lagune 1975 - Haut-Médoc - 3rd classified growth
Located a few kilometers south of the Margaux appellation, Château La Lagune is one of, if not the Haut-Medoc, the most renowned. Known for its power and great aging potential, it is easy to confuse it with a Margaux cru (Lascombes or Giscours for example).
This 3rd classified growth from 1855, which extends over more than 80 hectares, benefits from 18 months of aging, 55% of which is new wood.
The 1975 Laguna was rated 86 points by Parker. When you know the value of an 86 point at the time, it makes you want to taste this old bottle.
WUAT's Review: If you are looking for a classic Bordeaux style at a good price/pleasure ratio, this is the wine for you. You can enjoy it now or let it rest in the cellar for a few more years.
Exceptional provenance: These bottles come from a cellar of a great Swiss wine enthusiast and collector. We have acquired the complete collection containing more than 200 bottles of mainly French and Italian wines. The bottles have all been preserved following their purchase en primeur or shortly after their marketing on site, in a natural cellar buried under a 16th century convent. A damp cellar, which is why some labels are very worn. The levels are generally excellent or perfect and the most "fragile" bottles testify to conservation in total darkness for more than 30 years!
