History of the House
Classified 2nd Grand Cru in 1855, Château Lascombes covers 120 hectares, making it one of the largest estates in the Médoc. Its vineyard is located on typical Margaux soils: deep gravel and clay-limestone plots. This exceptional terroir is mainly planted with Merlot (50%), followed by Cabernet Sauvignon (45%) and Petit Verdot (5%), offering wines of great richness and elegance. Since its founding in the 17th century, Château Lascombes has embodied excellence, with a style combining power, roundness and finesse.
Presentation of the Cuvée
This Margaux is renowned for its structure and harmony, enhanced by careful aging in oak barrels (50% new). Lascombes wines are distinguished by intense aromas of black fruits, spices and flowers, with a velvety texture and a long persistence in the mouth.
Presentation of the 1990 Vintage
The 1990 vintage is one of the most exceptional of the decade, marked by ideal climatic conditions: a hot and dry summer followed by perfectly controlled harvests. Château Lascombes 1990 offers a complex bouquet mixing notes of candied cherries, cedar and vanilla, with melted tannins and a long and balanced finish. This wine is ready to be tasted or to be kept for a few more years.
