Chateau l'Enclos 1983 - Pomerol
Chateau l'Enclos 1983 - Pomerol
Pomerol
Low stock: 1 left
Like many estates in the Pomerol appellation, Château l'Enclos has a small vineyard. 9 hectares of vines producing around 50,000 bottles per year.
The Château has the terroir (soil and subsoil) typical of the region. It is this very particular terroir which gives the Pomerols all their typicality (power, elegance and smoothness).
The vintages of Château l'Enclos are characterized by long aging of more than a year in approximately 50% new wood, which varies depending on the vintage.
This 1983 vintage was particularly well rated at the time by a great American critic, whose name must be withheld here under penalty of having to pay royalties (the worst part is that it's true).
In any case, the 1983 vintage was not the best, but, like the 1987 vintage, it was the wines from the right bank that came out best.
