History of the House

Château Margaux is one of the most prestigious Premiers Crus Classés of Bordeaux, according to the 1855 classification. Its history dates back to the 12th century, but it was in the 17th century that the estate took off under the direction of the Lestonnac family, who unifies the plots and designs the current vineyard. The château, with its emblematic neoclassical architecture, is nicknamed "the Versailles of the Médoc". Located on an exceptional terroir of deep gravel, Château Margaux is recognized for its wines of finesse, unmatched complexity and longevity. With a typical blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot, Petit Verdot and sometimes Cabernet Franc, it produces elegant vintages that span the decades.
