History of the House
Château Cheval Blanc, one of the few to benefit from the prestigious Premier Grand Cru Classé A classification, is located on the border of Saint-Émilion and Pomerol. Its unique terroir is based on a rare blend of clay-sand and gravel soils, allowing the perfect expression of the Merlot and Cabernet Franc grape varieties. Founded in the 19th century, the estate has preserved its identity thanks to demanding viticultural methods and precise vinification. Cheval Blanc is today recognized worldwide for its opulent and elegant wines, combining aromatic richness and exceptional longevity.
Presentation of the Cuvée
Cheval Blanc wines are distinguished by their finesse, silky texture and harmony. Balanced between the power of Merlot and the freshness of Cabernet Franc , the cuvée offers a remarkable aromatic complexity: red and black fruits, floral notes, sweet spices and touches of undergrowth. Aged in new barrels (100%) for around 18 months, these wines are capable of aging for decades while retaining their elegance.

Presentation of the 1976 Vintage
The 1976 vintage was marked by a very hot and dry year, resulting in low but concentrated yields. At Cheval Blanc, the grapes produced a wine with an evolved style, with tertiary aromas of leather, tobacco, and dried fruits. This vintage seduces with its supple texture, melted tannins, and a long and complex finish, ideal for lovers of old wines.
