Clos René 1993 - Pomerol
Clos René is a very classic Pomerol which enters the circle of very regular Bordeaux with which we are very rarely (if ever) disappointed.
The 18 ha property has belonged to the same family for over a century. This Pomerol is particularly powerful and tannic, it is less "easy" than many other Châteaux of the appellation. This typicality gives it a particularly important aging potential. It may also be interesting to taste this bottle, blind, with Châteaux of the left bank such as Talbot or Meyney for example.
Tasting advice: Open if possible at least an hour before tasting. Two hours of opening or a quick passage in a carafe would not hurt either.
Exceptional provenance: These bottles come from a cellar of a great Swiss wine enthusiast and collector. We have acquired the complete collection containing more than 200 bottles of mainly French and Italian wines. The bottles have all been preserved following their purchase en primeur or shortly after their marketing on site, in a natural cellar buried under a 16th century convent. A damp cellar, which is why some labels are very worn. The levels are generally excellent or perfect and the most "fragile" bottles testify to conservation in total darkness for more than 30 years!
