Domaine Jean-François Coche-Dury - Meursault-Perrières 1er cru 2014
About the domain:
You probably know as much about this as we do. The estate has risen to become one of the greatest names in Burgundy thanks to its practices in the vineyard, cellar and winery. Every qualitative detail is pushed to the extreme, making wines whose quality is very difficult to match.
The 10.5 hectare estate, spread across the largest appellations of the Côte de Beaune, produces around 60,000 bottles per year. A production that fails to satisfy the demand of wine lovers around the world.
The wines are fresh, lively, perfectly balanced and made for aging. To be tasted once in a lifetime.
About the vintage:
100% Chardonnay (organic but there is no need to specify), from a small plot of only 1 hectare, aged in 50% new barrels. A wine that cannot really be described in words. You are here in the best of the world.
Annual production of only 2100 bottles making it one of the rarest wines of the estate.
The 2014 vintage is a great success for the white wines of the Côte de Beaune.
About labels and packaging:
From the 2008 vintage, the estate changed the packaging of its bottles. The label of Meursault Perrières changed to match the rest of the range.
The caps that were previously white for all Chardonnay and Aligoté vintages, with the exception of Cortons-Charlemagnes, became bronze for some in 2013 and for all from 2014. Probably a solution to limit counterfeits. So be very careful when you want to buy this type of bottle.
