Comtes Lafon 1996 - Meursault-Charmes 1er cru

With a rich history that began in Meursault at the end of the 19th century, the now legendary Domaine des Comtes Lafon is still today a family property run by the descendants of Jules Lafon.

The vineyard covers "only" 16.30 hectares spread over 15 appellations in 4 communes: Meursault, Chassagne-Montrachet, Volnay and Monthélie.

This 1er cru Charmes vintage of only 1ha71 is located on the Charmes du Dessus plot. The vines on the plot were planted in 1946, 1963 and 1996.

Meursault Charmes des Comtes Lafon is renowned for its balance between power and freshness. Its natural acidity gives it great potential for aging and improvement, often peaking after 20 years.

The 1996 vintage harvest took place from September 23 in very good sanitary conditions.
