Corbin-Michotte 1983 - Saint-Emilion
Corbin-Michotte 1983 - Saint-Emilion
Saint-Emilion
Low stock: 1 left
The Corbin-Michotte vineyard has existed since 1726. Four other Saint-Emilion estates bear the name Corbin in Saint-Emilion. All are located near the Pomerol appellation on sandy soils, so it is easy to get lost.
Château Corbin-Michotte has belonged to the Boidron family since 1760. The vineyard is a single plot of land covering just under 14 hectares. The soils are composed of clayey sand, iron and gravel.
It is for the winemaking that the estate stands out from many other Châteaux. The wines are vinified in the traditional way in cement vats, before being aged for 15 months in 70% new barrels.
WUAT's opinion: Corbin-Michotte has not succumbed to the charms of marketing, no website, the label has practically never changed, and the wines are not truly vinified to be drunk before about ten years. A sort of UFO in the Bordeaux landscape that is always pleasant to discover or rediscover.
