Is it still necessary to present the Cos d'Estournel? This 2nd classified growth from 1855 is by far the most famous Saint-Estèphe. Its powerful and elegant style, and the very consistent quality it has demonstrated for over 50 years make it one of the best Bordeaux, sometimes better rated than some 1st classified growths.

Cos almost always has significant aging potential. The 1986 and 1988 vintages are still somewhat closed today.

The 1991 vintage in Bordeaux is a decent vintage but with a low harvest, the terrible frosts of spring having devastated most of the Bordeaux vineyards. The wines are supple and pleasant, but not very concentrated. Despite everything, the greatest successes are in Pauillac, Saint-Julien and Saint-Estèphe!

So don't hesitate to taste this Cos d'Estournel which is over 30 years old!
