About the estate : Is it really necessary to introduce you to the E.Guigal estate (E for Etienne but we know you already knew that)? Established in Ampuis since 1946, this large family estate is currently managed in the best possible way by the third generation of winemakers. The estate owns some of the most illustrious plots in the Rhone Valley, including this one.

About the 1996 vintage: La Mouline is a goldsmith's cuvée, a blend of powerful Syrah from the Côte Blonde softened with a little Viognier. La Mouline is one of the most beautiful successes in Côte Rôtie for this vintage "complicated by a cool and humid summer. Parker will give it a score of 93 points and will make the following review:

"The 1996 Mouline is extraordinary, rising with a sumptuousness and richness that elevates it among the successes of the vintage. It is already fabulous, surprisingly perfumed for its young age."

WUAT's Note: This bottle comes with many others from a cellar of a great Syrah lover. They have been beautifully preserved in a humid natural cellar, on metal cradles. The labels are often very disintegrated. We cleaned them with great care and filmed them. You can't imagine the difficulty added by the "metal mesh" that surrounds this bottle. We recommend not removing the films to avoid completely tearing off the labels. It's up to you to see if you are a gambler.
