About the domain:

The L. de Vallouit estate was a magnificent family estate in the northern Rhône valley. One of the few to own vines in all the appellations of the northern Rhône, with the exception of Château Grillet of course. In 2001, the estate's vines were taken over by Guigal, who incorporated them into some of his most prestigious vintages.

About the Vonière vintage:

This is a single-plot cuvée from Domaine de Vallouit. Tasted by us in June 2022, this cuvée will require several hours of opening before being tasted. This is a rustic Côte-Rôtie that is always rich and concentrated, with notes of garrigue and liquorice. It will perfectly accompany a spicy meal such as a stew or a game.

About the 1990 vintage in Côte-Rôtie:

An excellent vintage for all Rhône wines and particularly for the Northern Rhône in Côte-Rôtie and Hermitage. The Syrahs are concentrated, balanced, rich and very aromatic. As is often the case, the great Côte-Rôtie vintages age very well.
