My Grandfather's Vintage 2006 - Pierre Usseglio - Châteauneuf-Du-Pape

The Usseglio estate has existed since 1948. Created by a farm worker from Italy, the Usseglio estate is now run by his grandchildren. Covering a total of 39 Ha of vines, 24 of which are in the Châteauneuf du Pape appellation, the estate produces traditional Châteauneuf. The vines are aged from 40 to over 65 years.

This vintage produced exclusively from Grenache pays tribute to the creator of the estate. The 75 to 90 year old vines that make up the blend are located in La Crau, Les Bédines and Les Serres.

Vinification 100% in concrete vats for maximum fruit concentration.

The "Cuvée de mon Aïeul" is a pure and concentrated wine. The nose is very complex with notes of raspberries, liquorice and spices. It is a powerful wine, of great elegance.
