Champagne Cuvée Louise 1988 - Pommery in a box

Like all the great Champagne houses. And we could even say like all the Champagne producers. The Pommery house offers a great vintage that benefits from all the care and know-how of the house:

- The grapes come from the best terroirs classified as grands crus: Avize, Aÿ and Cramant.

- The vinifications are gentle and the aging in the cellar is prolonged

It is difficult to find out more as Pommery releases little information, which is a shame.

This vintage is obviously dedicated to Louise Pommery who was, like many great ladies of the time, at the origin of the development of the brand, the creation of the Château located in Reims and the chalk pits dug beneath it.

This vintage offers a rather "vinous" Champagne with extremely fine bubbles. The aromas are oriented towards yellow fruits (pear, plum and peaches) and white flowers.

About the 1988 vintage: Initially perceived as a good vintage, it is today considered by lovers of old champagnes as the best vintage of the 1980s, offering qualities similar to 1979 or 2002.
