About Champagne De Venoge
The Champagne House De Venoge was founded in 1837 by Henri-Marc De Venoge, originally from Switzerland and who arrived in Champagne in 1825.
The brand therefore takes its name from the "Venoge" River which supplies Lake Geneva.
Vintage 1996
The year 1996 is one of the greatest vintages in Champagne. A hot and dry summer followed by cool nights allowed the grapes to reach optimum maturity while maintaining an exceptional natural acidity. These conditions produced complex champagnes, with a vibrant freshness and with immense aging potential. The Cordon Bleu 1996 is now perfectly mature, offering a unique tasting experience.
The 1996 vintage is a great success in Champagne, it would be a shame for lovers of bubbles not to be tempted by this cuvée. Having tasted several, the old vintages of De Venoge are low in sugar and age particularly well.
Food and champagne pairings
The De Venoge Cordon Bleu 1996 goes ideally with:
Seafood (scallops, warm oysters),
Noble fish such as turbot or sea bass,
Creamy poultry or sweetbreads,
A mature Comté or Parmesan.
