Domaine de Chevalier 2005:
The Domaine de Chevalier is, like Talbot or Beychevelle, very consistent. For us, it is one of the best quality - pleasure / price ratios in Pessac-Léognan, not to mention the classified growths of Bordeaux. So if you don't know it, go for it!
Dark, intense red color.
Typical Chevalier nose with powerful aromas of Cabernet Sauvignon mixed with resinous and menthol scents. Ripe fruits and fresh leather add to the complexity.
Rich, silky and pulpy mouth, very pure and precise, dominated by a very elegant fruitiness. Ample development with a great concentration of fruit and fine and very tasty noble tannins. Creamy, fresh, fruity and very long finish. Perfect balance between concentration, great minerality and freshness, in a pure and elegant style.
There is something more in this vintage, an extra soul, an extraordinary brilliance, an almost magical touch.
Tasted in November 2021, this knight's estate has an incredible finesse. We found a style similar to that of the Grange des pères tasted shortly before. Very fine tannins, and aromas of very ripe red berries. A marvel to open at least three hours before tasting.
