Durfort-Vivens 1981 - Margaux
Margaux

Château Durfort-Vivens is not the most common in our glasses or in our cellars. Yet crowned with a title of second classified growth of 1855 and considered in its time as one of the best by President Thomas Jefferson and by all wine lovers, this château has not experienced the rise of its peers. The estate's vines are surrounded by those of Château Margaux.
Tasting notes: Contrary to what one might say (a wine too old, from an average vintage at a time when the château was underperforming) this wine is remarkable. The tiled color and the fully ripe aromas, earthy, cedar and animal. But it remains harmonious, some notes of soft and sweet red fruits are still felt. The finish is certainly a little short, but it is an elegant and classic old Bordeaux to drink now and which will seduce lovers of discoveries.
